MaltaWeather.com
is a collaboration between Malta
Weather Services and the MaltaMedia
Online Network. This website is updated regularly. Live readings are available constantly from various locations and all forecasts are updated three times a day. It first appeared online as the official website
of the Balzan MaltaWeather Station offering Malta's first 5-day weather
forecast and real-time online weather reports.
Since 1987 all instruments at the Balzan location
were British standard instruments. Maximum and minimum temperatures
and rainfall were already being recorded on a daily basis at that time. As the months and
years passed, more data could be measured with the purchase of other
weather equipment. Along the years
automatic weather equipment was bought until in 1998 Balzan Weather
Station launched the first weather website from Malta, which in 2000
included the first 5-day weather forecast for Malta. Then in January
2001 MaltaWeather.com was launched as part of the MaltaMedia Online
Network. In April 2001 an Oregon Scientific WMR-968 Wireless Weather
Station was installed and soon after real-time weather data was included
on MaltaWeather.com, again a first for Malta.
In 2002, Balzan
Malta Weather Station became Malta Weather Services and bought
a professional automatic weather station. Today Malta Weather
Servicesw also includes weather stations in Malta: Balzan, Iklin,
Mellieha, Mgarr, Msida, Rabat, Zebbug and in Gozo: Nadur and Victoria,
and rainfall reporting stations at Balzan, B'Bugia, Iklin, Attard,

A few years ago Malta Weather Services invested in a state-of-the-art

away and can give indication of any severe storms approaching the
Maltese Islands. In May 2006 Malta Weather Services moved to Zebbug,
where it now has a fully-equipped lecture room, office and large
